Voice

The human voice is our first instrument. It is one of our most direct ways to express and be understood. It is also one of our most vulnerable places. I love the process of opening, expanding, discovering and freeing the voice and all of it’s power, potential, nuance and subtlety. Singing has the ability to transform on the deepest levels as the resonating sound works within and throughout the organic instrument of our body. In my experience, this can happen while singing anything, from pop music to traditional chant and everything in between.

Ukulele

The Ukulele is one of the worlds sweetest instruments and by far the simplest and most intuitive fretted instrument. With a lineage that hails from the beautiful Hawaiian Islands, it has a tone and playing facility that brings instant joy to most and is suitable for pretty much any age.

Songwriting

The art of expressing our individual creativity in song is as old as time. Each of us has the possibility of creating beautiful authentic flowing music. When we express our true nature through songwriting it has the power to unlock our deepest selves and voice our unique experience as universal truth. This not only brings forward our greatest version but has the potential to express on behalf of others who cannot.

Guitar

Guitar has been known to be one of the coolest instruments of all time and has an enormous range of moods and complex nuances. It is a brilliant instrument for solo playing or chord accompaniment and has a wonderful feeling as its’ body resonates on the player’s body. It is usually best suited for slightly more seasoned hands and invites dedication and time spent in regular practice.

Piano

The piano is one of the loveliest instruments for beginner musicians of all ages. It has a huge range of frequencies, dynamics and timbres and is arranged in a linear and highly visual way. It can be perfect for clear and easy understanding of theory concepts and is also perfectly suited to expanded improvisation and exploration right from the start. The piano has a huge dynamic range and resonance and often provides a perfect foundation for lifelong musical adventures.

Violin

The violin is considered one of the most emotionally expressive instruments and has the vocal qualities like all instruments in the fretless bowed family . Most ancient cultures have some sort of bowed string instrument that would be considered the ancestors of the modern violin. Presently it is one of the primary features in modern classical orchestral ensembles as well as one of the main voices of Traditional Celtic, Baltic and Mediterranean music. It is a great instrument for any age that expresses a passion to learn and want to dedicate time and patience.

Half-Hour

Thirty minutes can be a great period of time for youngsters from around 4 to around 8. It goes by quickly but can be packed with learning and fun!

Forty-five minutes

Forty five minutes can be perfect for youth and teens who are looking to dig a bit deeper into their exploration and can focus on a few different concepts in one session.

Full Hour

One hour is an ideal amount of time for most adults. It can also be a suitable time for keen preteens and teens who are wanting to have time to expand, explore and deepen in each session and have the ability to focus well.

Longer sessions can be arranged upon request.

Classes are billed on a monthly basis at the beginning of each month and can be paid for by cash, cheque, or e-transfer.
